Our Continuing Education course programs are designed to address the diverse educational needs of financial advisors, ensuring that all participants are well-equipped to navigate the complexities of modern advisory roles. Whether you are a seasoned professional seeking to deepen your expertise, or a new advisor looking to build a solid foundation, our courses offer valuable insights and practical competencies to enhance your practice. Your Continuing Education (CE) credits will help keep your designation current.
Begin by heading to Continuing Education in the upper right corner dropdown.
Step 1: Enter your CFP ID to allow electronic submission of CE tests to the CFP Board of Standards.
Step 2: Find the course you want to take. You can filter by topic or status. Next to each course, you will find the number of credits you will receive for passing. If you have already taken the course, you will see the status and date the test was taken.
Step 3: Click on the Course Name.
Step 4: Answer each question in the test. The tests consist of multiple choice and true or false questions. You can also find the related documents to the right of each question for support.
Step 5: Once you have answered all questions, click Submit Answers at the bottom of the page. You must correctly answer 70% of test questions to qualify for CE Credit. After clicking on the "Submit Answers" button, you will immediately see your results and a copy of your results will be emailed to you.
How will my CE Credits be reported to the CFP Board?
For CFP® certificates, CE results are electronically submitted to the CFP Board of Standards using your CFP ID.
For PFS® certificates, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants does not currently offer electronic reporting and thus asks that you keep your Certificate of Completion that you will receive by e-mail after passing a test.
AdvisorStream submits passing results to the CFP Board twice per month, typically around the 15th and the 29th.
AdvisorStream CE credits are not approved for State Insurance credits or Ethics.
