How to Connect Social Media Accounts

Note: This integration is currently only available to IGM users only. 

Step 1: Click your name on the top purple bar and select Account Settings.

Step 2: Click on Social Networks.

Step 3: Click the toggle below the Hootsuite logo to log in to your Hootsuite account and enable social posting through Hootsuite.

How to Share Content Through Hootsuite

Step 1: Click AdvisorStream at the top left.

Step 2: To post via Hootsuite click the Share an Article button.

Step 3: Select the article from the content library by clicking on the image.

Step 4: In the Share, Article section choose one of the targets that allows posting via Hootsuite.

To Use Hootsuite Scheduler:

Step 5a: Choose the date and time you’d like to post the article.

Step 6: Click share now to post it on the selected day/time.

To Use AdvisorStream Social Scheduler:

Step 5b: Click queue for later to post at your next available time within your social scheduler.

TIP: Your AdvisorStream social scheduler can be found within your account settings → social scheduler. (Section 1: days and times of the week).

How to Set Up Your Social Scheduler

Click on Social Scheduler on the left-hand menu. Here you will set the preferences for your social media automation.

Step 1: Click your name on the top purple bar and select Account Settings.

Step 2: Click on Social Scheduler.

Step 3: Enable your social media automation by clicking on the enable toggle to turn it from white to green.

Step 4: Determine your send times of when AdvisorStream will post to your connected Hootsuite social networks.

Step 5: Scroll down to Content Auto Select to choose your preferred level of automation.

 There are three options:

Automated Social Posting Articles will be shared to your Social Media accounts via Hootsuite and your website following your scheduled posting time automatically.

Automated Queuing Articles will be automatically queued prior to your scheduled posting times. An email will be sent to you providing you the opportunity to decline the post or request a new article up until the scheduled posting time, and only at that point will a post be made.

Semi-Automated Queuing Articles will be suggested automatically, but your approval is required before they are added to your queue. An email will be sent to you providing you the opportunity to approve the post or request a new article up until the scheduled posting time.

Step 6: Share On AdvisorStream will post to all connected accounts. To change this, uncheck the “post to all connected networks” checkmark. Then select where your auto-selected posts will be shared.

Step 7: Included Publishers Select from the list of publishers you allow AdvisorStream to queue articles from.

Step 8: Included/Excluded Article Topics Include any article topics that resonate with your business focus. Exclude any article topics that you do not want to share. Ignore any article topics you feel indifferent towards. Including lighter, lifestyle topics will help you engage with clients and prospects.

Step 9: Click SAVE once complete
