Connecting your Instagram account to Facebook and AdvisorStream allows you to seamlessly create, schedule, and share social media across platforms — all from one place. This integration ensures your posts maintain compliance and maximize audience reach while simplifying your social media management process.

Connecting Your Instagram Account to Facebook
Before you begin, ensure your Instagram account is connected to your Facebook Business Page.
Option 1: From Facebook
Step 1. Log in to your Facebook account.
Step 2. Go to Settings & Privacy › Settings › Linked Accounts › Instagram.
Step 3. Select Connect Account and enter your Instagram credentials.
Option 2: From Instagram
Step 1. Open your Instagram app and go to your Profile.
Step 2. Tap Edit Profile › Page › Continue.
Step 3. Log into Facebook and select the appropriate Business Page.

Connecting Your Instagram Account to AdvisorStream
1. Confirm Connection to Facebook:
Make sure your Instagram account is linked to your Facebook Business Page (as outlined in the previous steps).
2. Navigate to Social Networks in AdvisorStream:
Log in to your AdvisorStream account and navigate to Account & Settings > Social Networks.
3. Connect Your Facebook Business Page:
Click on the connect the Facebook button
Then sign in with your Facebook credentials and choose your Business Page.
If you’ve already connected to Facebook, you can simply reconnect. We recommend selecting “Edit Previous Settings” and then choosing “opt in to all current and future Pages” to ensure all of your connections remain active and available.
4. Automatic Instagram Connection:
Once your Facebook Business Page is connected, any Instagram accounts linked to that page will automatically connect. The Instagram toggle will appear, confirming successful integration.

Creating and Sharing Instagram Posts
Once your Instagram account is connected, you can create and share posts directly through AdvisorStream.
1. Navigate to Library › Sharing to Social and Websites.
2. Select Create Your Own Social Media Post to Share.
3. Add one image (currently, only one image is supported for Instagram).
4. Enter your message or caption.
Note: Other content fields will not appear in the Instagram post.
5. Distribute or schedule the post as you normally would.
6. Your post will appear in the Outbox and will remain fully integrated with compliance review—consistent with other custom social posts.
7. Your post will be shared to Instagram with the image and/or caption added.
Note: In most cases, Instagram image upload issues are related more to the aspect ratio of the image than to the exact pixel dimensions.
While Instagram recommends the following image sizes as a best practice, images smaller than these dimensions can often still be uploaded successfully, provided the correct aspect ratio is maintained.
Recommended Aspect Ratios and Dimensions
- Portrait posts: 4:5 aspect ratio
Recommended size: 1080 x 1350 px - Square posts: 1:1 aspect ratio
Recommended size: 1080 x 1080 px
The 1080 px dimensions are recommended for optimal quality, but they are not always required. If your image matches the correct aspect ratio, it may still upload successfully even at a smaller size.
