How to add a contact Birthday/ Anniversary

The Contacts section within your account is what powers who receives your eCards. If sending a birthday card, or client anniversary card, you'll need to add client birthdays/anniversaries within the Contact record of your Contacts Dashboard. 

The three different fields for special dates are; Birthday, Anniversary, Client Since

You can add these special dates at three separate times;

1. During the initial upload 

• Begin by heading to your Contacts dashboard
• Click the blue Import Contacts button to the left side of the dashboard
• From your computer, open your .CSV or Excel contact list file. (How to Get Contacts into an Excel/.CSV File)
• Select all columns with the First Name, Last Name, and Email Address, Special Dates (YYYY-MM-DD) right-click and copy
•  Return to AdvisorStream and paste within the large rectangle. AdvisorStream will reformat all contacts
• Click the Proceed button
• Assign a meaning for each column (i.e. first name, last name, email)
•  Create a new list or select an existing list to place contacts in
• Click the Import Contacts button to finish the import

2. Bulk import the information

• Begin by heading to your Contacts dashboard
• Click on the blue arrow next to the contact list you wish to update
• Select export to CSV. 
• Open up the download which contains the names and emails 
• Add additional columns for Birthday, Client Since, Anniversary 
• Copy all columns 
• Back in AdvisorStream, Click the blue Import Contacts button to the left side of the dashboard.
• Click the Proceed button
• Assign a meaning for each column (i.e. first name, last name, email, Birthday, Client Since, Anniversary)
•  Select the existing list to place contacts in
• Click the Import Contacts button to finish the import

3. Add to a single recipient profile 

• Begin by heading to your Contacts dashboard
• Filter the contacts to find the recipient you wish to edit
• Click on their name to expand their contact information
• Enter the applicable dates (YYYY-MM-DD) 
• Click Save to capture the information
